Contraindications

Pharmacological properties
The drug SEX BARRIER contains mepregenol acetate and ethinylestradiol, which suppress the production of hormones regulating the gonads. Maturation of ovarian follicles slows down, and further development of estrus does not occur.
The uterine mucosa under the influence of the drug changes its biochemical composition, which helps reduce the risk of the egg fertilization by sperm cells during accidental mating.
Usage and dosage
Sexual arousal in female cats and dogs should be relieved at the first sign of its occurrence. In order to do this, the drug SEX BARRIER must be used daily for 3-5 days.
Daily dose of the drug is calculated depending on the body weight of the female cat or dog and is as follows:
- Up to 5 kg – 1 tablet;
- From 5 to 10 kg – 1-2 tablets;
- From 10 to 30 kg - 2-4 tablets;
- Over 30 kg – 4+1 tablet for each subsequent 10 kg of body weight.
The drug is recommended for maintaining a calming effect. In order to maintain a low level of sexual activity in female cats, the drug is given at a dose of 1 tablet regularly once in 2 weeks. In female dogs the drug is given 7-14 days prior to the expected estrus for 5-7 days at the dosage based on the weight of the animal indicated above.
In order to prevent unwanted pregnancy in case of accidental mating, it is necessary to give the drug after the unwanted mating to female cats once and to female dogs twice with an interval of 24 hours, but no later than 24 hours after the mating.
Female cats – 2 tablets.
Female dogs – based on the weight of the animal:
- Up to 5 kg – 1 tablet;

- From 10 to 30 kg – 3-4 tablets;
- Over 30 kg – 4+1 tablet for each subsequent 10 kg of body weight.
